There was tremendous interest with nearly 1800 visitors at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest during the Night of Museums.
For the 13th time, the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest joined the country’s largest cultural event, the Night of Museums. Aligning with the theme of “We’re in Trend” of the Night of Museums program series, this year the university focused its presentations and spectacular demonstrations around horses, encompassing passing, recurring, and timeless trends.
As visitors may have expected, those arriving at the István Street campus had the opportunity to get to know a wide variety of animals – up close. The most captivating ones, Liana the pony and Pluto the lamb, became absolute favourites of the audience, not only among the youngest attendees. There was also great interest in the presentations of the horseshoer and the hussars. Our guests had the opportunity to get the know what a veterinarian does, whether it’s in dentistry or internal medicine.
A highlighted program was the presentation by Prof. Dr. Péter Sótonyi, the rector of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, head of the Department of Anatomy, and vice president of the Hungarian Equestrian Federation. His two presentations, “Our National Treasure, the Horse” and the unique “Living Anatomy,” captivated not only our visitors but also our students and university staff.
While nearly a thousand people showed interest in our programs last year, this year we welcomed 1784 guests at the István Street campus. We would like to thank all the kind visitors who participated in the event at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest!
See you next year!
