Achieving Excellence in Animal Welfare on World Animal Day

We are pleased to inform you that on October 4, 2023, Dr. Kinga Fodor, associate professor and head of the Department of Laboratory Animal Science and Animal Welfare at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, and Dr. Szabina Tóth, an exotic animal veterinarian and veterinarian at the Animal Welfare Center of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, received the “Veterinarian of the Year for Animal Welfare” award. Additionally, Dr. Endre Sós, honorary associate professor and a staff member of the Department of Exotic Animal and Wildlife Health, received the “Animal Welfare Expert of the Year in Zoos” award.

These awards were presented for the first time by Dr. Bence Tuzson, Minister of Justice, Péter Ovádi, Government Commissioner for Animal Welfare, and Szilvia Vetter, President of the Common Cause for Animal Welfare Foundation.
