In honour of Aladár Aujeszky (1869-1933), a world famous veterinarian, physician, and microbiologist, a pioneer in rabies research and the discoverer of Aujeszky’s disease, a commemorative plaque was placed on the wall of his former residence in Budapest. This plaque was unveiled on October 19th by Dr. Péter Sótonyi, the rector, and Dr. Imre Nemes, the secretary of the Hungarian Swine Health Society and president of the Hungarian Zoonosis Society, on behalf of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, the Hungarian Swine Health Society, and the Hungarian Zoonosis Society in Kossuth Square. The plaque was created by the sculptor János Babusa.
