For the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, preserving traditions and remembering the past have always been priorities. In this spirit, an annual memorial ceremony is held at the end of May to commemorate Hungarian Heroes Memorial Day.
This remembrance day aims to set an example for current and future generations and honour veterinarians and students who sacrificed their lives for our country. This commemoration is significant for the veterinary community, and the university has warmly embraced the initiative of the Friends Circle, which ensures that every year we worthily honour these heroes. During the event, we recalled those historical moments when veterinarians and students demonstrated their heroism and made their mark in history. As per tradition, wreaths were laid at the memorials located on the walls of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology and the Library on the university campus.
