National Student Research Conference: Young researchers of UVMB achieve outstanding success

Since 1955, the National Student Research Conference (in Hungarian: OTDK) has been the largest scientific competition in Hungarian higher education. However, it is much more than a one-time contest—it is an inspiring scientific forum where top students from various fields of science, both within Hungary and from across the borders, present their research. OTDK is also a true science festival, showcasing how much talent and innovation are working toward our shared future.

University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest (UVMB) students excelled again in the spring of 2025. They brought home numerous prizes and special awards: across three sections, they achieved 7 first places, 3 second places, 3 third places, and 10 special awards.

When broken down by section and topic area, our success at the 37th OTDK is even more striking:

This particular award is exceptional, as a veterinary student succeeded in a human medical category — a rare and prestigious recognition. It’s not only a personal triumph but a practical demonstration of a modern, integrated approach to health — the principle of “One Health” in action.

We congratulate all participants! Your achievements prove that a scientific career is not just a challenge, but also an incredible opportunity.
