The implementation of the internationalization program is carried out through the provision of international mobility scholarships, as well as the support of other related, defined costs, which provide university students, lecturers, researchers, and staff, as well as lecturers and researchers of foreign partner institutions (hereafter collectively: university citizens) outside of Hungary or a short- or long-term mobility opportunity to Hungary through bilateral contracts. Regarding mobility opportunities, the scholarship program supports study, research or educational mobility, professional practice, and part-time training of university citizens. The selection of university citizens participating in mobilities and the support of their mobilities are carried out by the receiving institutions – under the supervision of the Tempus Public Foundation – based on their own internal rules, taking into account the conditions specified in the call for tenders and the supporting document, along with their objectives, with the continuous application of the fixed criteria system(s).
Scholarships that can be granted to university citizens differs for each geographical target area, and may also include other components, such as tuition compensation, travel and housing support, equal opportunity, or social benefits (hereinafter collectively: total mobility support). In addition to scholarships and other allowances, the flat-rate support provided to the institutions receiving the support includes support for the organizational costs related to mobilities based on the mobility volume (hereinafter: organizational support). The overall mobility support granted to university citizens participating in mobilities contributes to the additional costs of the stay abroad and does not necessarily cover all the costs incurred.
