Dr. Fanni Somogyi completed her secondary school studies in Óbuda in 2018, and later that same year, she was admitted to the University of Veterinary Medicine, Budapest. She conducted her research for her TDK thesis at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology under the supervision of Dr. Orsolya Farkas and Dr. Nikolett Palkovicsné Pézsa. Her thesis won first place at the 2022 ÁTE TDK conference and later at the 36th ODTK conference held in 2023. In February 2024, she received her veterinary degree, and shortly after, she worked at NÉBIH ÁDI, at the Department of Pathology. In the fall of 2024, she began her PhD studies at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology under the supervision of Dr. Orsolya Farkas. Her research focuses on examining the effectiveness of various flavonoids in treating gastrointestinal diseases using canine and porcine enterocyte and white blood cell co-cultures. Alongside her PhD studies, she assists teachers and researchers as a departmental veterinarian, and she is also a member of the University Doctoral Students’ Self-Government.
