Documents for TAJ card:
Other form of health insurance for the scholarship students is the so-called TAJ card:
- Once you have your Hungarian residence permit, you can apply for a TAJ card.
- The NEAK office does not accept incomplete applications! Neak office is the National Health Insurance Fund of Hungary.
The following documents are needed:
- The application form: taj application form

- A copy of your passport (valid for at least 3 months)
- A copy of your residence permit card (both sides, valid for at least 3 months)
- A copy of your address card (both sides, stamped by the Immigration Office, or printed version if you received a QR code from the Immigration Office) – You should write this address on the Application form.
- An original student status certificate with both signature and stamp, that you can get only after your registration in person and after you have registered in Neptun from the student’s secretariat. The student status certificate needs to be in Hungarian, and it must also state that you are a scholarship holder. It must be issued no longer than 30 days ago.
- Your Letter of Award (a document that proves that you are receiving a monthly stipend), you can find this in your dreamapply system.

- First you will receive the TAJ ID number and later (it can take up to 50 days) the TAJ card. If you are not sure about if you can receive post at your address, you should give the university as a postal address: Állatorvostudományi Egyetem 1400 Budapest, Pf. 2.
Renewal – TAJ card expired
To renew your TAJ card, please follow the instructions below:
- Make sure that your residence permit is valid!
- (The expiration date of your TAJ card is usually the same as that of your residence permit. Also, to renew your residence permit, you must have valid health insurance, so you should start the process by renewing your residence permit before your TAJ card expires!)
Print out all the listed documents:
- the application form
- A copy of your passport (valid for at least 3 months)
- A copy of your residence permit card (both sides, valid for at least 3 months)
- A copy of your address card (both sides, stamped by the Immigration Office or printed version if you received a QR code from the Immigration Office)
- An original student status certificate from the Student Secretariat that was issued no longer than 30 days ago
- Your Letter of Award (a document that proves that you are receiving a monthly stipend)

- Bring your NEW TAJ card to the secretariat’s office (UVMB, building H, 1st floor) during the opening hours to register your new TAJ card in Neptun.
