RESEARCH TOPIC:
Treating veterinary and public health as a whole entity, we are looking into the phenomena and processes of antimicrobial resistance to gain deeper understanding of the field hence discover possible intervention strategies.
Antimicrobial resistance is one of the most serious public health risks of our time, playing a vital role in agri-food chain safety, sustainable farming and public health.
Our research group also enhances the knowledge of antibiotics use in animals through pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic studies. In addition to these, we investigate the spread of antimicrobial resistance genes in the food chain and in other areas affecting human health. Furthermore, we are working on developing antibiotic alternatives, including feed additives, bacteriophages and antimicrobial peptides.
