Brief description of research topics Synapses contain a complex biochemical machinery that supports and contributes to the proper functioning of synaptic signalling and plasticity. The research team aims to better understand the role of synapses in the plasticity of neurons. We will perform molecular, biochemical and ultrastructural studies to elucidate how each synapse is built and functions, and the role of molecular organisation in regulating synapse formation, morphology, signalling and plasticity during normal and abnormal neuronal function.
