Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae the causative agent of swine erysipelas has a wide host range. A number of animal species are susceptibe to this Gram-positive pathogen. The aim of our examination is the comparison of E. rhusiopathiae strains isolated from different animal species on the basis of metabolic fingerprint, serological and genetic features.
