Boar semen differs from other domestic animals in several ways. It is produced in large volume and is highly sensitive to cold shock. These and other unique characteristics require special attention when applying freezing protocols. Our research investigates the quality and motility changes induced by freezing, which determine fertility. Our aim is to improve the conservation of the genetic stock by using new cryoprotectants.
