Evaluation of probiotics on porcine intestinal epithelial cells

She investigates using in vitro methods the role of different probiotics in maintaining a healthy gastrointestinal tract in pigs and in the treatment of inflammatory processes induced by E. coli and Salmonella species. She investigates the effect of probiotics on the production of certain proinflammatory cytokines, on barrier integrity, on the production of intracellular reactive oxygen species and on the adhesion inhibition of pathogens (E. coli, Salmonella) to intestinal epithelial cells.
