On the occasion of the National Day, Dr. László Fodor, professor, head of department of the Department of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, received the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary. Dr. Fodor was honoured with the award by Zoltán Balog, Minister of Human Resources within a ceremony at the Palace of Arts. 
 
The distinction recognizes Dr. László Fodor for more than three decades of outstanding faculty research work in the field of veterinary medicine, which covers a period of 16 years as head of department, 7 years as international vice-rector and vice-dean, as well as 8 years’ excellent work as Dean.
