The CALF DISEASES English Postgraduate Course of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest (UVMB) in cooperation with CEVA was successfully held in November 2018 with more than 100 participants. Many attendees came from abroad, among others from Czechia, Slovakia, Romania, Germany, France and Italy.
Prof. Walter Baumgartner from the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, Austria summarized the different practical aspects of calf diarrhoea, paratuberculosis in cattle and listeriosis in ruminants on his lectures.
Prof. Giorgio Valla, who is a contract professor at the University of Milan and University of Perugia, Italy, gave a detailed picture about the BVD-MD infection and the practical approach to its control and prevention.
Dr László Ózsvári from UVMB highlighted the most important veterinary issues related to the bovine respiratory disease complex in the Hungarian cattle herds. The participants were active, they posed many questions to the lecturers, and sometimes shared their own experiences with the others.
