The University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest has successfully completed two out of the three pillars of its accreditation process planned for this year.
In May 2023, CertUnion Hungary Certification Ltd. assessed the compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001 at our University in the following areas:
- Accredited higher education;
- Specialized continuing education and adult education;
- PhD programs;
- Research and development;
- Scientific organization;
- Clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic services;
- Food chain safety services;
- Animal welfare services.
The University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest fully complied with the requirements of the standard, obtaining a valid certificate until 2026.
The Hungarian Accreditation Committee for Higher Education assessed the quality assurance of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest based on the European standards and guidelines for quality assurance in higher education (Standards and Guidelines in the European Higher Education Area, ESG 2015). As a result of this evaluation, our institution has been accredited until June 30, 2028.
The third assessment of this year, the accreditation process of the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE), will commence in September 2023. The European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) was founded in 1988 with the aim of harmonizing veterinary education in founding countries. This organization assesses the quality of education in European veterinary education institutions.
For the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, international recognition is a priority, and therefore, it continually strives to provide high-quality education to its students. To achieve this, the university consciously follows the recommendations and guidance of both international accreditation organizations and the Hungarian Accreditation Committee (MAB).
