The National Food Safety Council held its professional consultation on food economy issues at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest on 4 June 2026. Participants discussed current challenges and developments in the fields of food safety and the food economy.
The event was opened by Rector Prof. Dr. Péter Sótonyi, who reaffirmed the University’s commitment to advancing scientific research and professional dialogue in the field of food safety. Hosting the meeting also reflects the recognition of the scientific expertise and professional standing that the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest has built over decades through its contributions to food safety research and the education of future professionals.
The consultation was chaired by Dr. László Búza, State Secretary responsible for the food economy, food distribution and food literacy at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Economy.
