Education and curriculum

Physical education is a mandatory criterion subject of 5 semesters in the veterinary education and 3 semesters in the biology BSc education. The physical education classes are held at the times specified in the timetable in groups, in which students participate in groups of 2.

Definition of the subject

The purpose of physical education is to maintain and strengthen students’ health, develop their physical condition and physical abilities, and arouse and develop a need for physical education and sports.

    Achieving good physical condition and improving endurance with the help of various sports and gymnastics in order to ensure that graduate students are in good condition for their work.
  3. General tasks of the subject
    educational tasks: development of students’ physical abilities by teaching the basic sports (athletics, ball games, swimming, gymnastics, etc.): knowledge of the technique and rules of various sports.
    Pedagogical tasks: understanding the necessity and importance of physical education and sports. Arousing students’ interest in leisure sports, thus developing their courage, toughness, and building team spirit.
  4. The relationship of the subject with the preliminary and postgraduate training
    The task of our department is to bring the physical and sports abilities of students from various secondary schools to the same level, and to fill in their deficiencies. Learning at least two types of swimming for beginner swimmers. Teaching sports that can be played alone, in pairs or in teams after the education is completed.

General tasks in the first 5 semesters

  • Exercises while walking and running. Free, doubles, rib wall and manual exercises
  • Preparatory exercises, stretching exercises, development of sports skills.
  • Ball game exercises, knowledge of rules.
  • Practicing ball games in game situations.

First semester 30 lessons, BASKETBALL

1-4. lessons

Assessing and leveling students’ pre-qualification. Skill development 1 or With 2 balls

Rules: dimensions of the pitch, backboard, ring and ball, playing time

5-8. lessons

Driving the ball with the right and left hand, starting and stopping with the ball. Two-handed transfers. Throwing to the basket from a standing position.

Rules: step rule, 3, 5, 10 sec rules

9-12. lessons

Starting trick, driving the ball with both hands. A prone throw starting from a standing position with both hands. Defensive footwork.

Rules: foot rule, personal fouls

13-14. lessons

Basketball game with 3 teams using the known rules. Round robin

15-19. lessons

Passing, throwing, mid-range throw. Track shots, grab defensive and offensive rebounds. 1:1 game against.

Rules: Duties of the referee.

20-22. lessons

Tempo throwing 1:1 and 2:2 game on the whole court.

Rules: the referee’s signals

23-26. lessons

Runs and blocks in 2:2 and 3:3 game situations.

Special situations in refereeing.

27-30. lessons

Half-court and full-court play in accordance with the rules.

Man-catching defense.

 

Second semester 30 lessons, VOLLEYBALL

 1-8. 

Ball skill development. Base touch and wedge touch while standing and moving, alone and in pairs. Dimensions of the pitch, ball, net height. Regular touch. Rules of rotation, calculation of results.

 9-14. lessons

Keeping the ball in the air continuously, group exercises. Touch the ball from a jump. Serve, receive serve. Rules of the first, second, third touch, rules of serving, Rules of net play.

15-16. lessons

Volleyball game with simplified rules.

17-22. lessons

Passing the ball overhead, backwards, sideways. Upper straight opening, knockdown.

Exchange rules. Shortened game in the 5th set.

23-28. lessons

Stretching exercises. 1, 2 or Blocking with 3 players: Covering the block.

Duties of the referee.

29-30. lessons

Playing by the rules.

 

Third semester 30 lessons, INDOOR FOOTBALL

1-6. lessons

Skill development exercises with a ball. Straight passes with inside. Passes while standing and moving: Movement with and without the ball. Defensive movement.

The dimensions of the pitch, the gate and the ball.

7-12. lessons

Passing the ball with outside, inside, or with fear. Heading in pairs is a swapping game for 2-3 players. Playing time, players, goalkeeper, field game rules.

13-16. lessons

Ball removal with breast, thigh and leg. Triangulation. Driving the ball with changes of direction, kicking at goal.

Goal kick rules.

17-18. lessons

Playing by the rules. Round-robin with 3 teams.

19-22. lessons

Passing from driving the ball, driving the ball with the received ball, removing the ball in the air. Defensive movement.

Personal foul rules.

23-26. lessons

Tricking with and without the ball. Head to goal. Coordinated work of defensive players.

27-30. lessons

Playing by the rules. Player exchange.

 

Fourth semester 30 lessons, Badminton

1-6. lessons

Grip, skill development, footwork, palm serve, continuous play with palm strikes. Straight and cross strokes.

Sizes of court, net, racket and ball, rules of the game.

7-10. lessons

Backhand. Continuous game with a backhand stroke. Reception of organs.

Rules for serving and serving.

11-14. lessons

Continuous play with forehand and backstroke. Straight and cross strokes.

Calculation of result (points).

15-16. lessons

Continuous play using learned rules and practiced strokes.

17-24. lessons

Thrown, strike, drop.

Competition rules. Rules for special situations.

25-30. lessons

Combining baseline and net play. Doubles game. Position of the doubles game. Position in the doubles game.

Doubles game rules.

 

Fifth semester 30 lessons

Free practice of the material of the first four semesters. Individual and team competitions.

 

  1. Methods and facilities for teaching the subject.

Grades work in groups. Method: oral instruction and practical demonstration. Facilities: the faculty’s gym, which is suitable for basketball, tennis, volleyball, badminton, gymnastics, and a well-equipped conditioning room.

  1. Requirement

After participating in a given number of practical sessions, signing the half-year admission.

 

Exemption:

Exemption from participation in physical education classes is possible with a health and sports certificate. The request for exemption is judged by the head of the Physical Education Department at the beginning of the given semester.
