Information about Admission

The application deadline for the upcoming spring semester (starting in February 2026) is 12 December 2025.
Please submit all the required documents indicated below by the deadline in electronic format via email at [Click to see email]

Research topics for the February 2026 intake are now announced on the website of the Hungarian Doctoral Council: Research topics at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest

Please note that admission and enrolment into the UVMB DSVS programmes require prior agreement with a Thesis Supervisor (TS), including a written statement from the TS confirming the applicant’s suitability.

If the candidate has a confirmed supervisor and successfully passes both the written exam (MsWord and Excel) and the interview, there is no restriction on the number of students who may be admitted to the UVMB’s PhD programmes.

All candidates are required to participate in an admission interview, in addition to an online written test that measures skills in MS Word and MS Excel.

Material for the written test
The entrance exam consists of solving MS Word and MS Excel tasks. Access to the preparation material will be available through an e-learning platform, and applicants will also have the opportunity to complete MS Word and MS Excel tests online, provided they submit their application by the deadline (December 12, 2025). Access to the e-learning platform and the online tests will be granted in the days following the application deadline.

The exact time and location of the admission interview will be communicated in due course. Personal attendance is preferred.

The research areas of the Thesis Supervisors are available under the Thesis Supervisors & Research Areas tab. Please contact the chosen TS and ask him/her to fill out the TS’s Acceptance Letter.

The Doctoral School operates based on a renewed curriculum from the autumn semester of the 2024/25 academic year. Graduate students admitted before that date must complete and obtain credits under the old curriculum. The subjects of the old curriculum are available under the Subjects tab.
