Subject and Course Information
How should I indicate the subject?
Each UVMB subject must correspond to one final grade. Grades from multiple smaller courses cannot be merged.
However, if one main course covers at least 75% of the UVMB subject content, you may list additional supporting courses. In such cases, include these in the subject field as well.
What documents should I indicate as submitted?
If the weekly schedule is included in the syllabus, no separate document is required. Select “Yes”—content matters, not document type.
What are “Contact Hours”?
Enter the number of contact hours as stated in the syllabus. Non-contact hours, such as “self-study time” are not accounted for!
What is the “Page Number”?
Provide the digital page number where the relevant content appears, if it differs from the printed page number in scanned documents.
Exam Information
How should I indicate exam results?
Only one final result can be entered.
Exemptions cannot be granted without a completed exam.
If multiple courses are listed, provide the result of the main course (minimum 75% overlap).
Additional Questions
How should I answer detailed content questions?
- Select “Yes” only if the topic is clearly documented in your documents.
- When asked to specify location, provide the exact digital page number.
- Indicate if the content appears in a different document or under another subject then your main subject.
Final Step
What do I need to complete the submission?
Enter the verification code provided in the same email as your request link.
When can I submit an exemption request?
Admitted students may submit exemption requests at any time, after receiving permission from the Admissions Office (for newly admitted students) or the Student Secretariat (for already enrolled students).
I studied this subject in high school. Will I receive an exemption?
No. Only university-level studies are considered for subject exemptions.
I studied the same subject in another university. Will I receive an exemption?
Not necessarily. Subject titles alone are not sufficient. Please carefully review the UVMB syllabus and compare the actual course content, as similarly named subjects often cover substantially different material.
I did not receive an exemption despite having studied this subject. Why?
There may be several reasons. Most commonly, the previously completed subject was not veterinary-specific and did not include the specialized and discipline-specific content that is an essential part of the UVMB curriculum.
Can I apply for an exemption using screenshots or website links?
No. All supporting documents must be submitted as originals (stamped and signed) or as notarized copies.
I have sent my documents to the office. Can I submit an exemption request now?
No. Please wait until you receive confirmation from the Admissions Office or the Student Secretariat that your documents have been reviewed and approved.
What is an Admission Code?
The Admission Code is a four-digit code followed by /E or /D, included in your admission letter.
If you have not been admitted, you do not have an Admission Code and cannot submit an exemption request.
What is a NEPTUN code?
NEPTUN is the official academic administration system used in Hungarian higher education.
Each student receives a six-character identifier, which is required for login. This code is issued shortly before enrollment.
I studied all parts of a subject, but its content was divided among several courses. How should I proceed?
For each UVMB subject, one final grade must be assigned. Grades from multiple smaller courses cannot be merged to form a single exemption request.
However, if you completed one major course covering at least 75% of the UVMB subject content, you may attach additional courses to supplement missing parts. In such cases, please also indicate these subjects in the corresponding field.
I studied one subject that covers the coursework of multiple UVMB subjects. How should I proceed?
You must submit a separate exemption request for each UVMB subject, referring to the same previously completed course in each request.
I studied this subject but did not take an exam. Can I still receive an exemption?
No. Exemptions can be granted only if a successful examination was completed for the subject.
I passed the exam, but my grade is low. Can I still apply?
Yes. However, a low grade may serve as grounds for partial or full rejection of the exemption request.
I have not received an answer yet. Why does it take so long?
Please consult the decision timeline described in STEP 7 of the Subject Exemption Process.
Requests are usually evaluated within 2 weeks (from the submission of the subject exemption request form), if you experience delay, please contact the Admissions Office (or the Student Secretariat in case of enrolled students).
Will I receive notifications at each stage of the review process?
No. You will receive only the final decision.
I submitted multiple exemption requests. Will I receive multiple responses?
No. You will receive one consolidated decision document covering all submitted requests.
This also means that the final document will be issued only after all departments have finalized their decisions.
Should I submit my request early?
Submitting early is strongly recommended. If additional documentation is required, early submission allows sufficient time to obtain and submit the missing materials.
My request was rejected and I disagree. What can I do?
You may:
-
submit additional documentation containing substantially new or relevant information, or
-
contact the relevant academic department to politely request clarification.
Who should I contact regarding exemptions?
In case of questions or difficulties, please contact:
- Admitted applicants (not yet enrolled): [Click to see email]
- Enrolled students: your designated administrator at the Student Secretariat
- Transfer students (from other veterinary institutions): [Click to see email]
