Founder and professor of animal hygiene.
He had a pioneering role in the struggle against diseases appearing due to the extension of large scale livestock farming, as well as in discovering the pathogenesis of animal rearing and nutritional deficiencies.
He was serving the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest for over several cycles as Rector and was the founder of the educational programme of veterinary specialists. He was also a Member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and Chairman of the Agricultural Sciences Department.
