Dear PhD Students,
We are now planning the next Summer School on “Non-animal approaches in sciences – Changing the paradigm” on 19-23 May 2025. This is the 5th edition of the JRC Summer School on non-animal approaches, and we are looking forward to host about 120 students from all over the world here at the Joint Research Centre in Ispra, Italy.
The Summer School is free of charge and the participants will get free local transportation, coffee-breaks and lunches, as well as an aperitivo-buffet and a social dinner. Still several students will have difficulties to cover costs for travelling and hotel.
We therefore query whether you would be interested to provide a travel grant to one or more students? You can select yourself who to grant on the basis of their flash presentation abstracts and motivation letters and we will of course officially recognise your contribution.
JRC is not allowed to issue travel grants for students or receive any funding, which is why we ask for your support.
Thank you for considering this and letting us know as soon as possible, and not later than 4th November 2024, whether you would like to provide support to our students. We would like to add your organisation’s name and link on the announcement page so that applicants are aware of the possibility to apply for a travel grant.
Please note that the JRC Summer School is environmentally friendly, and therefore when possible we encourage supporting students who choose sustainable travelling.
We try to reduce food waste, single-use plastics and printing on paper to a minimum and we will offer a green local menu throughout the event.
Kind regards,
The JRC Summer School Organising Team
